About the Author

I wrote a book!

Julie Grayson is a freelance writer with a knack for turning complex ideas into stories that stick. After almost a decade as a technical writer—where she mastered the art of making business policies and procedures sound almost exciting—she traded her corporate badge for creative freedom in 2011. Today, she crafts everything from blog posts about AI to essays on the beautiful chaos of raising four kids across three decades.

When she’s not writing, Julie enjoys road trips that end in coffee shops, pretending she’ll finish her ever-growing DVR list, and watching her favourite hockey team (the Washington Capitals) play. She’s a staunch supporter of the Oxford comma, prefers the English spelling of words (e.g., favourite, labour, theatre), and believes sarcasm is a love language.

Julie lives in Loveland, Colorado with her husband, her ever-expanding collection of bobble heads and a cat who judges her life choices from atop the refrigerator.

If you’re looking for more surface stuff: Hello, I’m Julie! I’m a sports gal who loves hockey (let’s go Caps!)’ baseball (let’s go Texas Rangers!), and football (let’s go Packers!) in that order. I love sports betting and genealogy research. I’m also a wife and mother of four. My favourite movie is Harvey, my favourite colour is grey, and 13 is my lucky number.
